Method
The atlas answers one practical question: if you live in the US, the UK or the EU, can you sign up for this agent today, and what are you letting it touch?
What counts as a personal AI agent
We only map personal AI agents. An agent makes the list when all four are true:
- It acts for one person, not a team
- It works across that person's own accounts: email, calendar, messages, bookings or payments
- It takes actions, not just answers
- A consumer can sign up or install it themselves
General chatbots, coding agents and work tools sold to teams are left out, even when they can do some of the same things.
Only the major ones
Anyone can build an agent now, and thousands exist. We don't try to list them all. We track the major personal agents: products from established makers, startups with significant funding or press coverage, and open-source projects with a large following. If a launch is small or only a demo, it waits until it gains real traction.
The four region labels
- YesAvailable to consumers
- PartlyOnly some plans, devices or a staged rollout
- NoOfficially excluded
- UnclearNo published country list
"Partly" means a real restriction a consumer would hit: some plans excluded, some devices excluded, or a staged rollout. "Unclear" means the maker has not published a country list. We never turn silence into a yes.
The ten capabilities
- Works in your accounts: Email, calendar or sites you are signed in to
- Uses a browser or computer: Clicks through websites or apps for you
- Works while you're away: Scheduled, triggered or ongoing tasks
- Lives in chat apps: WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram or similar
- Makes phone calls: Calls businesses or people for you
- Can pay for things: Buys, books or pays bills
- Asks before sending or paying: A confirmation step before it acts
- Works in German: Confirmed German language support
- Data can stay in the EU: EU hosting or on your own hardware
- Runs on your own hardware: You can host it yourself
Every cell carries one of four labels and says where the claim comes from:
- Tested by us
- Per the maker
- Per reporting
- No source yet
We use "Tested by us" only once we have actually tried it ourselves, with a date and a description. Until then no cell carries it.
Sources
We prefer the maker's own help pages and pricing pages, then reporting that quotes them. Every entry lists its sources and the date we last checked. Prices are the cheapest public way in, in US dollars, before tax.
Testing
The atlas is a map, not a review site. We do not publish scores.
Data and licence
All atlas data is available as one file: atlas.json. It is licensed under CC BY 4.0. You may use it freely, including commercially, as long as you credit "Personal Agent Atlas" and link back to this site.
